This post comes extremely late, for a couple that totally deserved it to be published on the day they were wed. Jorge and I were roommates in New York for six little months, after which I could definitely call him a brother. When I met Vanesa for their engagement session, I could see the fun and warm feeling between them instantly. It turned out to be one of my favorite picnic engagement sessions.

This awesome relationship showed through in full effect on the wedding day – though there was one family member in particular that we all missed. Not long before the engagement, Vanesa had lost her father to a battle with cancer, a battle I know far too well. He was remembered with honor in a locket attached to Vanesa’s bouquet, a detail I was intent to capture in remembrance.

Even with a heavy heart, there was lots of joy to be had on the wedding day, and beautiful pictures to be made. Here’s a selection of some of my favorites from the day!
